My Telenovela Choice
It took me a while to finally decide which telenovela I would choose to watch for this class. But I have a feeling that although it will be my first telenovela, it will definitely not be my last. Every time we have class, Dr. A tells us about the plot and storyline of different telenovelas. All of them sound so incredibly interesting. Two that really peaked my interest were "Sin Tetas No Hay Paraiso" and "Juana la virgen." The storylines are just so unique and sound like they would be so great to watch. For my telenovela choice, I browsed on Amazon for the choices available on DVD with English subtitles. I was between "Tierra de Pasiones" and "Heridas de Amor," which both sounded interesting. She told me that Tierra is a Mexican telenovela and a remake of another one. She told me that "Heridas de Amor" is a Telemundo telenovela shot in Florida. I chose the latter because I wanted to study one that was filmed and made in America because I find it fascinating that they bring the stars to them and adapt them to be able to film here and sell to the Latin American people living in the United States. That is really great and cool at the same time. I am eager to get started watching the telenovela, which is abridged to 13 hours on DVD. I tend to watch episodes on DVDs rather quickly because I get enthralled and can watch a whole season in 2 days or less. I can watch episode after episode; I get so caught in everything going on and just cannot seem to pull away. We will see what happens...
